ÀÇÎѵ¼º½ Me
I am a professor of medicine, the director of the Division of General Internal Medicine and Clinical Innovation at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, and an attending physician at Gouverneur Healthcare Service. In these roles, I am dedicated to advancing patient care through innovative medical education and research.
I specialize in general internal medicine, with a particular focus on chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. My extensive training at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where I completed my residency and served as chief resident, has helped give me the expertise to address complex medical issues effectively.
Throughout my career, I have been committed to proactive healthcare engagement, emphasizing the importance of patient education and involvement in their own health journey. I have led numerous initiatives aimed at improving medical education, including the Program for Medical Education Innovations and Research (PrMEIR), which I established in 2006. This program focuses on advancing medical education scholarship at NYU Langone and instituting best practices for patient-centered, evidence-based medical education through research, faculty grants, and consultations. My passion for medicine was ignited during my early years of training, where I was inspired by the impact of effective healthcare communication and the importance of patient safety. I am proud to have received the 2018–19 NYU University Distinguished Teaching Award, the Association of American Medical Colleges’ prestigious Excellence in Medical Education award in 2020, and the Society of General Internal Medicine ‘Career Achievement in Medical Education’ Award in 2022.
