Exercise is good for children’s growing bodies and their minds. Cordelia W. Carter, MD, co-director of the Center for Young Athletes at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone and clinical associate professor in the , explains to NBC Learn that exercise can be any time that you move your body.
Children should exercise at least an hour a day, so it’s important to find an activity that your child enjoys. “Kids who exercise or do physical activity do better in school,” says Dr. Carter.
